“I have my doubts this is a set.” How he wished it was all fake; for cameras to glint somewhere in the darkness or for someone to come out into the open and claim it had all been a hoax. Joseph couldn’t believe that, not when this place felt so… real.
The detective came to a halt. His shoulders bunched as the strain inside his skull only increased, slouching him and quickening his breath. What felt like a pulse trembled through the air and he cried out. His skull was on fire, agony stripping him of conscious thought and bringing Joseph to his knees.
He’d been desperately trying to lighten up the situation; in his own head, of course. But Jason eventually conceded to all those thoughts that were definitely just grounded and, of course, accurate — both himself and his temporary… partner, were absolutely fucked. He just couldn’t sugarcoat it.
‘ Looks like you’re right. This shit is way too genuine to be bullsh—’
And of course, just as he’d been speaking, a thought- shattering, piercing screech resonated through his mind. And it hurt like fucking hell; causing the male to jerk back and cover his ears with his hands, a loud, strangled gasp escaping his throat.
